Two alleged members of the New People’s Army (NPA) who had been husband and wife were killed in a clash with government troops in Masbate. According to a report on "24 Oras," members of the 9th Infantry Division of the PA were patrolling the mountainous Barangay San Isidro in Palanas, Masbate when they encountered the group of Aliases Ka Dawe and Ka Sheila. Both the husband and wife died during the clash. Army Major Frank Roldan of the Public Affairs Division said that the unit encountered 10 armed combatants, with eight of them attempting to run away. When soldiers pursued them, there was another encounter. The PA said that the husband and wife played a big role in the NPA, with one of them being a medic. “A soldier was hit in the leg, but he is in stable condition for now,” Roldan said in Filipino.
