Public Policy Expert Highlights Sectoral Ego in Law Enforcement, Suggests KPK Involvement

A public policy expert in Indonesia has sounded the alarm regarding "sectoral egoism" among law enforcement agencies, which is hindering effective law enforcement. To address this issue, the expert has proposed the involvement of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). This expert's observation highlights a structural challenge faced by Indonesia's law enforcement system. When each ministry or agency adheres strictly to its own authority and jurisdiction, it can lead to a lack of information sharing and joint investigations or countermeasures. This, in turn, can become a breeding ground for criminal organizations or allow corruption to spread. Particularly in large-scale corruption cases or complex organized crimes, a lack of inter-agency cooperation can cause investigation delays and the scattering of evidence, often making it difficult to uncover the truth of the case.
