MANILA, Philippines — Several classes have been suspended or shifted to online learning on Wednesday, August 5, due to inclement weather intensified by Tropical Storm Maymay (international name: Kujira). As of 8 a.m., Maymay was estimated to be 190 kilometers west-northwest of Bacnotan, La Union, according to state weather bureau PAGASA. It is moving northward at 10 kilometers per hour (kph) with maximum sustained winds of 65 kph and gusts of up to 80 kph. Despite the suspension, schools in Metro Manila were advised to implement alternative modes of learning.
