Hung Yen Province Launches Emulation Movement for Double-Digit Growth Target

Hung Yen Province in northern Vietnam has officially launched an emulation movement aimed at achieving its ambitious goal of sustainable double-digit economic growth for the period 2026-2030. The launch ceremony and the signing of emulation pledges to successfully implement the set objectives took place on the afternoon of July 29, organized by the Provincial People's Committee. Hung Yen is recognized as one of the provinces with particularly outstanding economic growth across Vietnam. In recent years, the province has focused on infrastructure development and improving its investment environment, with these efforts contributing to its economic expansion. For instance, the inauguration of a new road costing VND 145 billion (approximately USD 6 million) connecting two cultural heritage sites is expected to boost the regional economy. Furthermore, the province is committed to enhancing administrative efficiency. In the past, it demonstrated responsiveness to public concerns by successfully persuading an individual to cease toll collection at the 'Đún Bridge,' highlighting a willingness to engage with residents. This emulation movement signifies Hung Yen Province's ambition to further strengthen its role in driving Vietnam's overall economic growth. Under Vietnam's one-party system, it is common for local governments to implement region-specific policies and foster competition to meet the central government's economic targets. Hung Yen's initiative serves as an example of this economic management model in Vietnam.
