VinFast Offers Diverse Battery Options in Indonesia to Accelerate EV Adoption
Vietnamese EV maker VinFast has launched three models—Evo, Feliz II, and Viper—for the Indonesian market, offering three flexible battery ownership and usage schemes to accelerate EV adoption.
Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer VinFast has introduced three new electric motorcycle models for the Indonesian market: the VinFast Evo, VinFast Feliz II, and VinFast Viper. The company is offering three distinct battery ownership and usage schemes to cater to the diverse needs of Indonesian consumers. These schemes include battery subscription (rental), battery swapping (exchange), and purchasing the motorcycle complete with its battery. The battery subscription option allows consumers to own an electric motorcycle without a significant upfront battery purchase. For users prioritizing convenience, the battery swapping service enables quick battery exchanges at dedicated stations. VinFast is collaborating with V-Green to develop a network of charging and battery swapping stations across Indonesia. This infrastructure will complement home charging and allow users to access public charging and swapping services. All VinFast electric motorcycles are equipped with two LFP (lithium iron phosphate) batteries, known for their high durability and safety standards. The dual-battery setup is placed under the seat, facilitating easy installation and replacement while maintaining optimal storage space. With a full charge, the VinFast Evo can travel up to 150 km, while the VinFast Viper and VinFast Feliz II offer a range of up to 145 km. All three models feature an in-wheel BLDC electric motor with a maximum power of 5,200 watts. The Viper and Feliz II can reach a top speed of 90 km/h, while the Evo has a top speed of 80 km/h. Through this combination of battery options, vehicle technology, and the development of charging and swapping infrastructure, VinFast aims to provide a convenient and flexible ownership experience for electric motorcycles in Indonesia, thereby accelerating the adoption of eco-friendly and sustainable mobility.
