Vietnam's Shrimp Exports Reach $3.3 Billion in Eight Months

Shrimp exports from Vietnam reached US$3.3 billion in the first eight months of the year, marking a 12% year-on-year increase, according to data from the Vietnam Customs cited by the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP). In August alone, shrimp exports amounted to US$478.5 million, a 4.2% rise compared to the same month last year. This sustained growth highlights the strength of Vietnam's seafood sector, which is on track to achieve its annual export target of US$11 billion. The robust performance is largely attributed to strong demand from key markets, including China and the United States. Vietnam earns US$1.1 billion from shrimp exports to China.
