Road Network Expansion Boosts Connectivity Around Long Thanh Airport

Extensive road network development is underway around the Long Thanh International Airport (LTIA) in Dong Nai Province, southern Vietnam, aimed at enhancing regional connectivity. These efforts are geared towards boosting the regional economy in anticipation of the airport's completion by the end of 2026. Thousands of workers and heavy machinery are engaged in round-the-clock operations to accelerate construction. The projects, with a combined investment of approximately 12 trillion VND (around 460 million USD), include the expansion and upgrading of Provincial Roads DT769 and DT773, as well as the construction of DT770B. These roads are expected to play a strategic role in the region's transport network. Vietnam's aviation market is projected to see an increase of 8.6 million passengers annually by 2030, with the Tan Son Nhat–Long Thanh airport system expecting about 3.2 million additional passengers. To accommodate this growth, airport infrastructure development is also progressing rapidly, with major facilities like the first and second runways, taxiways, and aprons nearing completion. The Vietnamese government prioritizes infrastructure investment to maintain and accelerate economic growth. Projects of national importance like LTIA are crucial for streamlining logistics, promoting trade, and attracting foreign investment. Under its one-party system, Vietnam places economic growth as a key priority, aiming to enhance international competitiveness through infrastructure development.
