Vietnam Establishes Central Council for Children and Youth Development
Vietnam's Communist Party has decided to establish a Central Council for Children and Youth Development for the upcoming term (2026-2031), seen as part of the Party's strategy for youth cultivation.
Vietnam's Communist Party has decided to establish a Central Council for Children and Youth Development for the 2026-2031 term. This decision was made during the second plenary session of the 13th Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, held in Hanoi. During the session, delegates discussed and agreed on several key issues, including election regulations within the Youth Union and the division of responsibilities for standing committee members and executive committee members. The establishment of the Central Council for Children and Youth Development was among these agreements. In Vietnam, the Communist Party plays a central role in national governance, and the development of youth is considered crucial for shaping the ideological and moral character of the future generation. Previously, a Deputy Prime Minister stated that "all Vietnamese children must grow up in love," and the Ministry of Education has promoted activities to "spread love for Uncle Ho among children nationwide." Events such as the "Red Wing Award" recognizing achievements in education and interactions between renowned artists and children have also taken place. The establishment of this council is seen as part of Vietnam's national strategy within its one-party system, aiming to strengthen life skills education for children under the Party's guidance and cultivate individuals who can contribute to socialist construction. As Vietnam continues its economic growth, the development of its young population is foundational for social stability and sustainable development.
