Thai Nguyen Province Charts Course for Deep Mineral Processing

Thai Nguyen Province in northern Vietnam is focusing on developing a deep processing roadmap for its abundant mineral resources to maximize added value and prevent resource wastage. The province aims to improve the processing level of mineral resources other than tungsten, which is currently considered average compared to global standards. This initiative aligns with Vietnam's national policy to transition from mere resource extraction to industries with more advanced processing technologies. Promoting deep processing can encourage the high value-addition of raw materials locally, potentially leading to reduced export dependency and strengthening domestic industries. Addressing environmental concerns associated with mining and improving the livelihoods of local residents are also highlighted as crucial issues. To achieve these goals, Thai Nguyen Province plans to strengthen cooperation with related industries, invest in technological development, and enhance its resource management system. This move is noteworthy as a concrete step at the local level towards the structural transformation and sustainable development of the Vietnamese economy.
