Senate Members Meet with Local Authorities in Kandal Province

A group of Cambodian Senate members visited K'Chass District and Samrong Popon City in Kandal Province on the afternoon of July 31, 2026, to hold a consultative meeting with local administrative officials. The group, representing the third region (Kandal Province), was led by its president, H.E. Mom Bunnaing. A total of 143 participants attended, including commune/sangkat councilors, commune/sangkat clerks, and commune/sangkat administrative police chiefs. The primary objectives of this meeting were to gain a deeper understanding of local challenges, public demands, and development progress. Presentations were made on "The Role of Communes/Sangkats in Registration in Accordance with Court Decisions and Facilitating Local Dispute Resolution." Additionally, Sub-Decree No. 76 ANK.BK on the organization and functioning of the government's Brotherhood Fund was disseminated. The aim was to strengthen the effective implementation of laws, protect the legal rights and interests of citizens, and further enhance the capacity of competent authorities in providing better public services to the local population. During the event, the Senate members of the third region presented donations to all participating commune/sangkat councilors, clerks, and administrative police chiefs. Each recipient received a package of beverages and aid from the Global Life-Saving Sharing Fund Organization of the Republic of Korea, along with a sum of money. Source: AKP Khmer
