Vietnam-Taiwan Tech and Expert Ties Strengthened by VNEAT

Nguyen Van Nam, representative of the Vietnam Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei (VECO), and Prof. Yuei-An Liou, Honorary Chairman of the Vietnam Engineering and Technology Association (VNEAT), spoke highly of the association's role as a bridge between Vietnam and Taiwan. Nam affirmed VECO's active support for activities aimed at connecting intellectual resources and developing the Vietnamese expert community in Taiwan. This suggests the potential for Vietnam to deepen its role in the global semiconductor supply chain by leveraging the expertise of Taiwanese professionals. Past developments include a Taiwan-based expert stating that "Vietnam can deepen role in global semiconductor supply chain," job fairs in Taiwan linking young Vietnamese talent with global labor markets, and Taiwanese high-tech groups choosing Vietnam as a Southeast Asian manufacturing hub. Against this backdrop, the strengthened cooperation between VNEAT and VECO could be a significant step towards enhancing Vietnam's technological innovation and international competitiveness. Under its one-party system, Vietnam prioritizes economic growth and actively seeks foreign investment. Taiwan is a crucial economic partner for Vietnam, with deepening cooperation in technology transfer and human resource development. Amidst complex relations with China, technological collaboration with Taiwan is considered strategically important for Vietnam's economic independence and supply chain diversification.
