Measures taken to prevent communication disruption in Lay Myint Nar Township

According to the Myanmar Posts and Telecommunications of Ayeyarwady Region, measures have been taken to prevent communication network disruptions in the villages within Lay Myint Nar Township, where flooding is occurring due to the breach of a river embankment. To prevent communication disruptions, two B2B satellite terminals sent from the headquarters of Myanmar Posts and Telecommunications have been installed: one at the Sittaung Monastery evacuation camp in Sayawain Village Tract, Lay Myint Nar Township, and another in Seittnoegon Village, Sakhochaung Village Tract, Lay Myint Nar Township. Preparations are also underway to install mobile base stations (Cell on Wheel - COW), it was reported. Under the leadership of the Ministry of Digital Development and Communications, Myanmar Posts and Telecommunications, and led by the Regional Manager of Myanmar Posts and Telecommunications of Ayeyarwady Region, plans are being made and implemented to restore communication at mobile phone base stations within Lay Myint Nar Township, which have been temporarily closed due to rising water levels, once the water recedes.
