Cha-am Reed Fire Threatens Homes, Over 200 Rai Burned

A large reed fire broke out in the central urban area of Cha-am, Phetchaburi Province, Thailand, on September 2nd. The fire spread rapidly, burning over 200 rai (approximately 32 hectares) of reed land. The flames approached residential areas, raising concerns about potential evacuations for residents. Local fire authorities immediately dispatched five fire trucks to the scene to combat the blaze. After approximately three hours of intensive firefighting efforts, the fire was brought under control. However, the extensive area affected and the proximity to residential zones caused temporary alarm.
