Cambodia Holds Meeting on Riverbank Erosion; Expert Team to Survey Site

The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology of Cambodia held a meeting on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at the Ministry's headquarters, led by Secretary of State Chan Sinat, concerning riverbank erosion in Kampong Cham city, Kampong Cham province. During the meeting, Secretary of State Sinat instructed the expert team to conduct a detailed study of the riverbank erosion situation and infrastructure damage in order to prepare a restoration plan that is both qualitative and sustainable. He also urged the team to implement the work in strict accordance with technical standards and to cooperate closely with local authorities to ensure the project proceeds smoothly and serves the public interest. The meeting was attended by representatives from the provincial and municipal administrations of Kampong Cham, relevant ministries and departments around the province, leaders of specialized departments, and members of the riverbank erosion protection project implementation team.
