Cambodia's Ministry of Rural Development Enhances Budget Planning and Implementation Capacities

On the morning of Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at the Emprees Angkor Resort & Spa Hotel in Siem Reap, His Excellency Pho Pharith, Secretary of State and Chairman of the Public Financial Management Reform Working Group of the Ministry of Rural Development (PFM-MRD), presided over a workshop on strengthening capacities in planning and implementing the budget of the Ministry of Rural Development. The workshop was attended by His Excellency Dee Lamtha, Undersecretary of State, Her Excellency Ek Kunthavy, Undersecretary of State, Her Excellency Chiang Sokna, Director General, Deputy Secretaries of State, Deputy Directors General, Directors of Departments, Heads of Provincial Departments, representatives of all units under the Ministry's purview, representatives from the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and members of the PFM-MRD Working Group. The objective of this workshop is to enhance the capacities of technical officials and provide additional knowledge for the implementation of their work on the results of the implementation of the 2026 budget, as well as lessons learned, guidelines on budget planning, information on budget, monitoring, inspection, and evaluation of the budget, and to resolve all issues encountered in the past and improve the planning and implementation of the budget for the following years.
