The Union Minister made this statement at the workshop on evaluating the teaching and learning system in the higher education sector and setting future work plans, held on July 14 at the multipurpose hall of the main building of Naypyitaw State Academy in Naypyitaw. Efforts must be made to ensure the effectiveness of the processes for submitting and evaluating students' assignments. It is also requested to identify the challenges and solutions that may arise for establishing open universities based on Yangon Distance University and Mandalay Distance University. Furthermore, regarding the quality assurance system, discussions must be held to arrive at a firm solution or result. For research and innovation activities, the Center for Research and Innovation (CRI) is being implemented at Naypyitaw State Academy, Yangon University, and Mandalay University, and research papers must benefit the MSME businesses supported by the state, as well as reach a level where relevant ministries can practically apply them, he said. In online education, it is also necessary to systematically change and use the teaching and learning management system, and digital libraries have already been opened at Naypyitaw State Academy, Yangon University of Foreign Languages, and Yangon Institute of Education to compete with international standards, it was said.
