Thai Deputy Transport Minister Inspects Provincial Bus Terminal in Ubon Ratchathani to Enhance Public Transport

Siripong Angkasakulkiet, Deputy Minister of Transport, visited Ubon Ratchathani province to inspect the development of the road transport system at the provincial bus terminal. He was welcomed by Narong Thepsena, the Governor of Ubon Ratchathani, Jakrakrit Tangjaiyod, the Provincial Transport Officer, along with heads of government agencies, representatives from the private sector, operators, and local residents. During this visit, the Deputy Minister received a briefing on the operational results of the Ubon Ratchathani Provincial Bus Terminal and an overview of public bus services in the area. He then conducted an inspection of various service points within the terminal and engaged in close discussions with passengers and bus operators to inquire about service quality, the readiness of facilities, and actual travel issues and obstacles. All suggestions received will be used as data to formulate strategies for elevating the public transport system to be more comprehensive and responsive to the needs of the people. Siripong revealed that this site visit is in line with the Ministry of Transport's policy to upgrade infrastructure and public transport systems to the same standard nationwide. The goal is to ensure that travel is systematically interconnected and seamless, emphasizing convenience, speed, and utmost safety to facilitate public travel. Furthermore, it aims to be a significant driver for promoting the economy, tourism, and sustainably improving the quality of life for the people in Ubon Ratchathani province and neighboring provinces.
