DepEd Fails to Build 9,450 Classrooms Under Basic Education Facilities Fund
The Commission on Audit (COA) found that the Department of Education (DepEd) failed to construct 66% of classrooms funded by the Basic Education Facilities Fund (BEFF) from 2021 to 2025. Site-related issues and approval delays led to only 4,817 out of a target of 14,267 classrooms being completed.
