Cambodia to Expand Security Forces: Recruitment of 2,000 New Personnel with Strict Selection Criteria

The Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (Gendarmerie) has commenced the process of distributing application forms to candidates wishing to volunteer for service within the gendarmerie forces across the nation. This initiative aims to bolster the country's security apparatus. The distribution of application forms will take place from September 3rd to September 12th, 2026, with the acceptance of applications scheduled from September 4th to September 15th, 2026. Applications will be received free of charge at the gendarmerie headquarters in all 25 provinces and capitals. Candidates must meet the following nine qualifications: 1. Must be a Cambodian male and single. 2. Must be between 18 and 25 years of age as of the application date. 3. Must possess adequate physical fitness and good health to perform duties. 4. Must demonstrate loyalty to the nation and homeland, and have no involvement in any criminal offenses. 5. Must hold a high school diploma or equivalent educational certification. 6. Must be at least 1 meter 70 centimeters tall. 7. Candidates must pass a qualification review and a competence examination, which includes subjects such as dictation, mathematics, physics, chemistry, and English. 8. Candidates must undergo a health and physical fitness examination, including blood, physical, and urine tests. 9. If a candidate is currently employed within the state framework, they must resign from their original position. Interested candidates are encouraged to collect and submit their applications within the specified dates and at the designated locations. The exact number of candidates to be selected to fill the gendarmerie quota in Kratie province is not yet known, but a total of 2,000 individuals will be recruited nationwide.
