Cambodia and Laos Women's Associations Extend Cooperation with MoU Through 2030

The President of the Women's Association of Cambodia, Samdech Kittisangahabot Men Sam An, and the President of the Lao Women's Union, Mrs. Ali Vongnarabountham, have signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between their institutions for the period of 2026-2030. This significant ceremony was held at the General Department of Taxation headquarters on the afternoon of July 22, 2026. Samdech Kittisangahabot stated that the two women's organizations had previously signed an MoU for the period of 2014-2016. Although the signing was not continued due to unfavorable circumstances, the relationship and cooperation between the Women's Association of Cambodia and the Lao Women's Union have remained strong. Notably, border provinces of both countries have actively maintained mutual relations, facilitated by provincial leadership. The new MoU will continue to contribute significantly to promoting women's rights, protecting women's legal interests, and enhancing the traditional friendship, solidarity, and cooperation between the women of both countries in all sectors. Furthermore, it aims to maintain peace and build a border of peace, friendship, and development to boost economic growth and benefit the peoples of both nations. The Lao delegation, led by Mrs. Ali Vongnarabountham, will pay an official visit to Cambodia for four days, from July 22 to July 25, 2026. The signing of this MoU reflects a shared commitment to further strengthen and yield fruitful results from the friendship and cooperation between the women of the two countries.
