Cao Bang Develops Organic Farming Zones Linked to European Markets

Cao Bang province in northern Vietnam is developing organic farming zones linked to European markets, leveraging its status as a UNESCO Global Geopark. This initiative aims for sustainable local community development and international market access. The Non Nuoc Cao Bang Global Geopark, recognized by UNESCO, boasts a distinctive geological history spanning over 500 million years. Cao Bang province continues its efforts in conserving and promoting its geological, cultural, and natural heritage, closely linked with sustainable livelihood development for local communities. In the first five months of 2026, Cao Bang welcomed nearly 1.3 million visitors, generating 1.43 trillion VND (54.3 million USD) in tourism revenue, with an average accommodation occupancy rate of 53%. The province is also exploring a "red tourism" route linking Pac Bo (Vietnam) and Meng Mo (China) with Baise city in China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region to promote revolutionary tradition education and strengthen bilateral friendship. Cooperation in human resource development through training exchanges and workforce quality improvement is also being stepped up. Furthermore, Cao Bang is focusing on adopting advanced agricultural technologies, including Industry 4.0 applications like IoT, drones, AI, automation, and biotechnology, as part of efforts towards sustainable agricultural advancement and a zero-waste economy. Linking with European markets represents a significant step in Vietnam's agricultural export strategy. As demand for high-quality, low-emission produce grows, Cao Bang's organic farming initiatives have the potential to enhance its competitiveness in the international arena.
