Yangon, July 15 Three military camps of the State Administration Council (SAC) located on the China border in the Shinghkawng area of Khaunglanhpu Township, Putao District, northern Kachin State, have been seized by KIA (Kachin Independence Army) forces, a military source from KIA told Yangon Khit Thit Media. Starting from July 10th, a joint force of KIA and KPDF (People's Defence Force) launched an offensive and attacked three combined camps where approximately 200 SAC soldiers and People's Militia members were stationed at Border Pillar No. 30 on the China border in the Shinghkawng area of Khaunglanhpu Township. Two guard posts were seized on July 11th, and after continuing the offensive, the remaining one camp was completely seized on July 13th, it was learned. "These are camps in the Shinghkawng area of Khaunglanhpu Township, with a combined force of about 200 SAC and People's Militia members. Currently, there is still a military camp in Shinghkawng village in the Shinghkawng area. The camps seized now are located about 6 miles away from Shinghkawng village. We do not yet have an exact count of how many SAC soldiers died and how many weapons were captured from the camps in the Chinese border village," the KIA military source told Yangon Khit Thit Media. During the battle to seize these camps, a large number of SAC soldiers and People's Militia members were killed or injured, and the remaining soldiers and People's Militia members abandoned their weapons and ammunition and fled to Khaunglanhpu town. Therefore, it was learned that their weapons, ammunition, and military equipment were seized. These three camps were responsible for the security of Khaunglanhpu town, with SAC soldiers under Min Aung Hlaing stationed in the main camp, and People's Militia members deployed in the two guard posts, it was learned.
