A graduate from the Polytechnic College of Davao del Sur has topped the licensure examination for criminologists held in the Philippines, achieving a score of 93.70%. A total of 16,952 examinees passed the exam.
A graduate of the Polytechnic College of Davao del Sur (PCDS) has achieved the highest score in the licensure examination for criminologists held last month. Jeb Jobet Remolleno Gabriel scored 93.70% to top the exam. According to the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), 16,952 out of 29,452 test takers passed the examination, which was administered by the Board of Criminology at 32 testing centers across the Philippines in August. Top performing schools were also listed, with PCDS ranking among them. "The results of examination with respect to five (5) examinees were withheld pending final determination of their liabilities under the rules and regulations governing licensure examinations," the PRC stated. This achievement highlights the role of educational institutions in producing professionals in the field of criminology in the Philippines. Amidst an economy often reliant on Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), obtaining professional licenses domestically is crucial for the career development of young Filipinos and their contribution to the national economy. The profession of a criminologist is linked to the demand for expertise in law enforcement and public safety, and this exam result indicates the current state of human resource development in these sectors.
