Cambodia Prioritizes Infrastructure and Citizen Welfare, Governor Praises Former PM Hun Sen's Legacy

H.E. Thao Cheth, Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology and Head of the Working Group for the Stung district, stated that the construction of infrastructure, development, and the improvement of citizens' livelihoods are high priorities of Samdech Techo Hun Sen. His Excellency the Minister made these remarks during a meeting to greet and inquire about the well-being of party family members in Trai commune, Stung district, Kampong Thom province, on the morning of September 5, 2026. His Excellency emphasized that in the name of Samdech Techo, in the name of the Prime Minister, and in the name of the Cambodian People's Party, he will continue to strive to build and develop the base, especially new infrastructure and irrigation systems, to further improve the welfare and livelihoods of the people in Stung district, in line with the policy and strategy of the 7th mandate government under the skillful leadership of Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, under the umbrella of peace. Concurrently, H.E. Thao Cheth highly praised Mr. Pang Vey, Head of the Working Group for Trai commune, and Mr. Say Kim Lom, Governor of Stung district, and their colleagues for their cooperation in building and developing the base, especially in meeting and supporting the people with food supplies, repairing access roads for easier travel, constructing and repairing irrigation canals, digging ponds, installing solar panels for night lighting, meeting and supporting families of frontline soldiers, facilitating free medical examinations and treatments for citizens, organizing the New Year's festival, offering candles for the rainy season and other alms, supporting pregnant and newly delivered mothers, contributing financially and with food to bereaved families, and many other active initiatives. Furthermore, His Excellency urged the movement and spirit of environmental support, the movement for clean housing, and the collective planting of new trees to the best of their ability to respond to the increase in global atmospheric temperatures and other phenomena. It should also be noted that approximately 3,000 party family members, district party working group members, and commune party youth participated in this meeting, and His Excellency provided each participant with 20,000 Riel and one box of instant noodles.
