Meeting on Peace Process: NSPNC and ALP held a meeting

The meeting between the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee (NSPNC) and the Arakan Liberation Party (ALP) was held Monday morning at the meeting hall of Thingaha Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw. Attending the meeting were Chairman of the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee (NSPNC), Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, Secretary Lt-Gen Min Naing, and Committee members, along with ALP Chairperson Saw Mya Razalin, Secretary Saw Mya Than Thar, Joint Secretary (1) Khine Thurein Soe Tint, and central committee members Khine Maung Thein Oo and Khine Oo Tin Tun. At the meeting, NSPNC Chairman Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, stated that discussions have already been held with the NCA-S EAO negotiation group regarding the peace processes to be carried out moving forward that the door remains open for meetings and discussions with any organization concerning peace and that after continued discussions with the NCA-S EAO negotiation group, bilateral meetings with individual groups will also be conducted, and necessary requirements will be addressed and coordinated in accordance with the policies of relevant ministries. Following this, ALP Chairperson Saw Mya Razalin said that the discussions on peace are aimed at enabling the public to live under a peaceful shelter and to cease conflicts that the time has come to strive toward a union based on democracy and a federal system in line with political outcomes, as outlined in the NCA agreement that the present moment presents a good opportunity and timing and that they will continue to strive for lasting and sustainable peace with the interests of the people as the priority. Afterwards, attendees discussed matters including building a democratic federal union and a federal system in accordance with political outcomes, cooperating hand-in-hand with the government and the Tatmadaw for stability, peace, and development, preventing actions that could undermine mutual trust, ensuring the well-being of the people residing in Rakhine State, Sittwe Township, and Ayeyarwady Region in terms of food, clothing, and shelter and delivering humanitarian assistance. Subsequently, NSPNC Secretary Lt-Gen Min Naing, clarified matters regarding the peace processes and discussed how the ALP could assist and cooperate with local regional military units from their side for the stability and peace of Rakhine State. After that, both sides coordinated to record the discussions and signed the minutes for confirmation. Then, ALP Chairperson Saw Mya Razalin expressed words of thanks, and NSPNC Chairman Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, delivered concluding remarks.
