Sihanoukville Province Holds 27th Ordinary Meeting of the 4th Mandate Provincial Council
Sihanoukville Province convened the 27th Ordinary Meeting of the 4th Mandate Provincial Council on August 4th. The meeting reviewed and approved reports on the provincial administration's July activities, first-half performance, and various committee reports. Emphasis was placed on implementing the 'Safe Commune/Village' policy, combating online scams, and environmental sanitation.
Sihanoukville Province -- On the morning of Tuesday, August 4, 2026, HE Vong Phanath, Chairman of the Sihanoukville Provincial Council, and HE Eam Pheap, Deputy Governor of the Sihanoukville Provincial Administration, led the 27th Ordinary Meeting of the 4th Mandate Provincial Council. The meeting was attended by HE and HE, members of the Provincial Council, Deputy Governors, Director and Deputy Directors of the Provincial Administration, city and district governors, heads of relevant departments and technical units, and the administration and office units under the Sihanoukville Provincial Hall. The 27th Ordinary Meeting of the 4th Mandate Provincial Council had 10 agenda items for review and discussion, including: 1. Review, discussion, and approval of the draft agenda for the 27th Ordinary Meeting of the 4th Mandate Provincial Council. 2. Review and approval of the draft minutes of the 26th Ordinary Meeting of the 4th Mandate Provincial Council. 3. Review and approval of the draft minutes of the 9th Extraordinary Meeting of the 4th Mandate Provincial Council. 4. Review, discussion, and approval of the draft monthly report for July 2026 on the implementation of work by the Provincial Administration (from June 22, 2026, to July 21, 2026). 5. Review, discussion, and approval of the draft first-half report for 2026 by the Sihanoukville Provincial Administration. 6. Review, discussion, and approval of the draft decision on the amendment of Article 1 of Decision No. 067/24 S.Sor dated November 5, 2024, of the Sihanoukville Provincial Administration on the establishment of the Sihanoukville Provincial Administration Project Organization Committee. 7. Listening to reports from: - The Provincial Technical Coordination Committee - The Provincial Consultation Committee for Women and Children Affairs - The Provincial Procurement Committee - The Provincial Land Management and Urban Planning Committee - The Provincial Citizen Office 8. Review, discussion, and approval of the draft table for the distribution of incentive bonuses for Sihanoukville Provincial Hall officials for July 2026. 9. Other matters. Following the reports from departments, units, and city/district administrations, HE Vong Phanath, Chairman of the Sihanoukville Provincial Council, evaluated and praised the departments and districts for fulfilling their roles and responsibilities with high accountability. He specifically mentioned the implementation of the 'Safe Commune/Village' policy, prevention and suppression of drug offenses and juvenile delinquency, ensuring the safety and well-being of citizens in their localities, and eradicating theft and robbery. He also urged continuous monitoring and investigation to prevent online scams (Scams Online) within the province. Furthermore, HE the Chairman of the Sihanoukville Provincial Council urged all levels of authorities to continue paying attention to environmental sanitation to welcome tourists and Chinese investors. This is an opportunity to attract more Chinese tourists and investors to Cambodia, as the government has waived visas for Chinese tourists from June 15 to October 15, 2026, which is expected to significantly boost tourism and investment.
