There were a total of 28 people on board the express vehicle that plunged into the gorge, including 13 male passengers, nine female passengers, two drivers, two conductors, one cabin crew, and one vehicle attendant. As a result of the incident, one woman died, and 11 men and eight women (not in critical condition) sustained injuries. Firefighters from the Myingyan Township Fire Station responded to the scene of the rollover accident with one fire engine and carried out rescue operations. The deceased and the injured were transported to the Ton That Township Hospital by vehicles from the Ton That Social Welfare Association, it was reported.
