Opening ceremony of the new building in the compound of the Department of Traditional Medicine under the Ministry of Health took place at the Ottarathiri Township in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday. The new building was formally opened by Union Minister Dr. Thet Khaing Win, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Kan Myint Than and concerned officials by cutting ceremonial ribbon. After sprinkling scented water to the stone inscription of the building, the Union Minister and party toured around the new building and the Myanmar Traditional Medicine Museum, where traditional medicines and miniatures of the Department of Traditional Medicine, University of Traditional Medicine and Traditional Medicine Manufacturing Factory are being showcased. The ceremony also included screening of a video clip on development process of Traditional Medicine Department, and hand over of the documents relaed to the new building. The completed new building was constructed by the Department of Building under the Ministry of Construction with total value of over 7.4 billion kyats during 2023-2024 to 2025-2026 fiscal years.
