Two Myanmar women arrested for working for online gambling website with over 70 million Thai baht in monthly turnover in Mae Sot, Thailand

Yangon, Myanmar, June 30 Thai police announced that the Cyber Police force raided an online gambling website in Mae Sot, Tak province, Thailand, which had a monthly turnover of approximately 70 million baht, and arrested two Myanmar nationals. On the morning of June 30, a special investigation team under the Cyber Police, Unit 4, entered a house in Village Group Mae Pa, Ward 10, Mae Sot Township, Tak Province, with a search warrant. Investigations revealed that the house was being used as an operational base by administrators of an online gambling website named "Las Vegas LV177," and that services were being expanded during the 2026 World Cup period. The raid was conducted in accordance with the policy of the Thai government and the Royal Thai Police to accelerate the suppression of online crimes. Police obtained a search warrant from the Mae Sot Provincial Court after collecting evidence before entering and making the arrests. During the search, two Myanmar nationals, Ma Thandar, 27, and Ma Caesar Nyunt, 26, were apprehended. Investigations found that they were responsible for communicating with customers and providing services as administrators of the online gambling website. The two arrested individuals reportedly receive a monthly salary of about 30,000 baht, and according to investigations, the website's turnover amounts to about 70 million baht per month, the Thai police said. Police seized a large number of exhibits, including computers, mobile phones, iPads, network connection devices, 35,000 baht in cash, gold-like jewelry, Buddha images, and bankbooks. They stated that they will continue to investigate the financial channels and identify and prosecute those involved in the network. The two arrested individuals have been transferred to the Mae Sot Police Station along with the evidence and are being prosecuted for operating an illegal online gambling service, advertising online gambling, and soliciting others to participate. The Cyber Police urged the public to report any online gambling websites or social media pages they encounter to the Cyber Police, emphasizing that online gambling is illegal, can lead to financial loss, and that personal and financial information can be misused by fraudsters.
