Cambodian Interior Minister Visits Border Police Units, Emphasizes Vigilance Against Neighboring Countries

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sar Sokha, visited and extended greetings to the border police forces of Battambang and Pailin provinces on the afternoon of August 31, 2026, at the Battambang Provincial Police Headquarters. His Excellency Dr. Sar Sokha praised our frontline forces for their bravery in defending territorial integrity from incursions by neighboring countries, demonstrating a strong unity and standing firm along the borderlines. He added that Cambodia has prepared itself, and the frontline forces must continue to trust the leadership of the government head, who always pays high attention. He explained that while some border police tasks were not central roles in the past, this role is being expanded, especially in collaboration with military units on the front lines, becoming a crucial partnership like a couple who need each other at times. On this occasion, His Excellency presented cash, food, and essential supplies to Border Police Battalions No. 817, 819, 823, 310, and 821. Each battalion received 10 million Riel in cash, 2 tons of rice, 200 boxes of instant noodles, 20 boxes of canned fish, 30 kg of dried fish, 30 kg of sausages, 20 kg of sweet preserved radish, 30 bottles of fish sauce, 20 bottles of soy sauce, 100 boxes of mineral water, and 30 tents.
