Saen Saep Canal Boat Service Suspended Due to Heavy Rain; Rangsit Area on High Flood Alert

Family Transport (2002) Co., Ltd., the operator of the Saen Saep canal passenger boat service, announced a temporary suspension of its operations from 11:45 a.m. on September 25 due to persistently rising water levels caused by incessant rain. The service is a vital waterway transport in Bangkok, covering a total distance of approximately 17.24 kilometers. The Saen Saep canal route is divided into two sections: Phan Fa Lilat–Pratunam and Pratunam–Wat Si Bun Rueang. The company will inform the public once water levels recede and normal service can resume. Meanwhile, persistent heavy rain also caused water levels in the Rangsit Prayoonsak canal in Rangsit City municipality to reach the "Red Flag" warning level at 2:30 p.m., indicating the highest risk of flash flooding. Water is surging up from drain pipes and spilling onto surrounding roadways as the rain has caused water levels to rise rapidly, exceeding the area’s drainage capacity. Rangsit City municipality and relevant agencies are operating water pumps at full capacity and have issued warnings to residents in at-risk areas, urging them to move belongings to higher ground, relocate vehicles, and closely monitor water situation updates.
