Mya Thalon Pagoda Buddhist Puja Festival to be held in Magway

It has been learned from officials of the Mya Thalon Pagoda Board of Trustees that the 2590th Buddhist Puja Festival of the historic Mya Thalon Pagoda in Magway city will be held with famous drama troupes and lantern launches. The Mya Thalon Pagoda festival will be held for 20 days, from the 10th day of the waxing moon of Thadingyut until the end of the month, as it is held annually. It is learned that on the 14th day of the waxing moon of Thadingyut and the full moon day of Thadingyut, in addition to lighting 9,000 oil lamps and flowers for worship, large fireworks and "Sein Napan" lanterns will be launched, and the beauty of Phankhar's night will be depicted with colorful fireworks. During the festival, famous drama troupes will perform, and music festivals and Chinlon matches will also be included, said U Htan Ngwe, the finance officer of the Mya Thalon Pagoda Board of Trustees. It is said that about 1,000 stalls will be set up and sold during the festival, and Myanmar's Ferris wheel and children's playgrounds will also be included. It has also been learned from the Mya Thalon Pagoda Board of Trustees that pilgrims from all over the country who come to the pagoda festival can stay for free at the guesthouses near the pagoda's main courtyard if they have their identification cards.
