Hanoi Accelerates Land Database Completion Ahead of August 30 Deadline

Hanoi is accelerating the development of its land database, with a target completion date of August 30. The city is mobilizing its workforce and working through holidays to ensure the data meets the criteria of being "correct, sufficient, clean, and live." As of July 19, the city had completed the database for 1,006,485 land parcels classified under Group 1, meeting these standards. The remaining approximately 1.9 million land parcels are currently undergoing data enrichment and cleaning, with a goal to complete this phase by July 30. Furthermore, approximately 1.2 million land parcels, including about 950,000 parcels that have not yet been surveyed and 250,000 parcels that have been surveyed but require amendments or supplementary information, are slated for completion by August 30. This land database initiative is a crucial step in enhancing the transparency and efficiency of land management in Vietnam. Land is considered a fundamental asset for the national economy, and its management is paramount for the country's development. Under its one-party system, the government views accurate land information as essential for land-use planning, stabilizing the real estate market, and attracting foreign investment. The clarification of land rights is particularly urgent given the rapid economic growth and subsequent urban development and infrastructure projects in recent years.
