8888 Uprising 38th Anniversary Commemorated with Demonstration in Canberra, Australia

Myanmar nationals in Canberra, Australia, gathered on August 7 to commemorate the 38th anniversary of the 8888 Uprising and held a demonstration against the military dictatorship. The demonstrators marched in front of the embassies of the Philippines, Thailand, and Myanmar, calling for the implementation of ASEAN's five-point consensus on Myanmar, consideration of the voices of the Myanmar people, and the release of all political prisoners. Myanmar nationals from Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane also came to join the protest.
