Cambodia's Health Ministry and GX Foundation Ink New Deal to Expand Humanitarian Projects
Cambodia's Ministry of Health and the GX Foundation have signed a memorandum of understanding to expand existing humanitarian projects into two new provinces, focusing on cataract surgeries and enhanced dengue fever prevention measures.
His Excellency Professor Chheang Ra, Minister of Health, met and held discussions, and witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement to expand the scope of work to new targets with Mr. LEUNG Chun Ying, Chairman of the GX Foundation and Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. The ceremony took place on the afternoon of Friday, July 3, 2026, at the Ministry of Health. During the meeting, His Excellency the Minister expressed his deep gratitude for the significant achievements of the Foundation, including: * The successful "Eyesight Restoration" program in Prey Veng and Kampong Speu provinces, which has safely performed a total of 6,673 eye surgeries for citizens. * The Dengue Fever Prevention project, which provided 13,800 Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) kits, mosquito-killing lamps, insecticide-treated nets, and educational materials covering all 64 health centers in Kampong Speu province. Deployment of preventive tools was also conducted at strategic national infrastructure sites, including the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway, the Funan Techo Canal construction site, and Techo International Airport.
