Prabowo Foresees Indonesia's Economy Surpassing France, Germany in 25 Years

President Prabowo Subianto revealed that many experts worldwide predict Indonesia's economy will become the fourth largest globally in 25 years, surpassing developed nations like France, Germany, and the United Kingdom. "All world experts predict that in 25 years, Indonesia will become the fourth largest economy in the world. Fourth! Above France, Germany, the UK," said Prabowo during the virtual inauguration of the Institut Pemerintahan Dalam Negeri (IPDN) Class XXXIII on Wednesday (29/7/2026). Prabowo urged the newly inaugurated civil servants to realize this prediction as they will be the future leaders of Indonesia. "In the next 25 years, you will be the ones truly governing. In the next 25 years, some of you will become governors, perhaps some of you will stand on this podium. The future belongs to all of you," he stated. According to him, his administration is working to pave the way for continued economic growth, making the prediction of Indonesia becoming a global economic powerhouse a reality. "We are here, working and serving, to open the path for all of you," said Prabowo. This statement reflects an optimistic outlook on Indonesia's long-term economic development, suggesting the potential for emerging economies to catch up with and surpass developed nations. It also aims to instill a sense of future responsibility in young civil servants. Indonesia possesses significant economic growth potential due to its abundant natural resources and large domestic market, though realizing this requires structural reforms, infrastructure development, and investment in education.
