Cambodia Boosts Digital Skills Training in China for 50 Instructors

The Skills Development Fund (SDF) of Cambodia, in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Zhejiang Construction Vocational College in China, has launched a digital technology training program for 50 Cambodian instructors in Hangzhou, China. The initiative aims to foster advanced human capital and modernize Cambodia's industrial sector, as announced on August 7, 2026. This training, part of the ILO/China Skills Partnership Program, focuses on Digital Construction (Building Information Modeling – BIM/Revit) and Industrial Electrician (Programmable Logic Controller – PLC). The program's objectives include transitioning from traditional 2D blueprints to 3D model-based systems, enhancing the capacity for installation, programming, and maintenance of PLC control systems in factories, and establishing a national network of master trainers. This network is expected to train at least 1,000 students, undergraduates, and employees by 2029. The initiative also seeks to promote public-private partnerships for job opportunities and practical implementation. As of July 2026, SDF has supported 290 skill development training projects, benefiting a total of 101,264 trainees. This master trainer program is highlighted as another successful example of SDF's international cooperation in building human capital and enhancing Cambodia's regional competitiveness. Furthermore, the SDF working group conducted study visits to leading Chinese technology companies, including DeepRobotics Co., Ltd., Hangzhou Bay Embodied Intelligence Innovation Center, and Panrui Technology Co., Ltd., to gain deeper insights into AI and robotics technologies within China's industrial sector.
