Vietnam Communist Party Central Committee Convenes Third Plenum to Chart National Development Course

The Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee has opened its third plenum of the 14th tenure in Hanoi. The session, scheduled to run through July 24, is deliberating on critical matters concerning the strengthening of the Party's leadership, the promotion of national development, and national development in the new era. In his opening remarks, General Secretary and President To Lam reiterated the Party's guidelines, objectives, and major strategic orientations set forth at the 14th National Party Congress. He emphasized that this plenum must serve as a platform to translate these strategic orientations into policy decisions that remove bottlenecks in national development, unlock resources, and create new drivers of growth. Comrade To Lam urged Central Committee members to focus on adopting major decisions to advance four strategic transformations: 1. Enhancing the Party's leadership and governing capacity, as well as the quality and efficiency of the State apparatus. 2. Ensuring unified governance of the national development space and more effective mobilization and utilization of national resources. 3. Establishing a development model driven by productivity, knowledge, technology, and human capital. 4. Strengthening proactive risk prevention, resilience, adaptability, and national security. He stressed that every choice must prioritize the interests of the nation and its people, alongside the country's long-term development. Furthermore, he stated that resolutions and conclusions from the plenum must be promptly translated into concrete action programs and implementation plans. This meeting is crucial for Vietnam as it seeks to address economic and social challenges and maintain its growth trajectory. With concerns about economic slowdown, the search for new growth engines is a pressing priority.
