The National Pediatric Hospital has officially clarified the case of a 5-month-old infant who passed away while receiving treatment at the hospital on July 23, 2026. The incident was previously reported on July 24, 2026, by an account named Muong RA. According to the hospital's statement, the infant was brought in by their family on July 22, 2026, and was initially diagnosed with "acute pneumonia." Since admission, the medical team diligently monitored and treated the infant in accordance with medical technical principles. Despite the medical team's best efforts, the infant's pneumonia condition progressively worsened, leading to death on July 23, 2026, at 10:36 AM. The final diagnosis indicated that the infant died from "severe pneumonia and severe sepsis (Bronchopneumonia, unspecified organism and Severe Sepsis with Shock)." In response to this case, the management and technical team of the National Pediatric Hospital stated that they are conducting a detailed investigation and evaluation of the entire treatment process, adhering to principles of transparency, accountability, and strict medical professional standards.
