President Prabowo Orders Halt to Excessive Welcoming Ceremonies
President Prabowo has instructed regional heads to cease mobilizing citizens for welcoming ceremonies during his visits. He expressed concern for the public's burden and emphasized prioritizing substantive work for national welfare.
President Prabowo Subianto has instructed regional heads not to mobilize the public for welcoming ceremonies during his visits to various regions. This directive was made during an event for subsidized housing loans and people's housing credit (KUR) in Batang Regency, Central Java, on Thursday (30/7/2026). The President stated that he felt sorry for citizens who had to stand by the roadside under the scorching sun. "Although I say again to governors and regents, there is no need to mobilize so many people for me. I am happy to meet the people, but if they are mobilized, I feel sorry for them waiting in the heat," Prabowo said. Prabowo expressed his pleasure in meeting and greeting the public during his visits to various regions, noting the warmth of the people's welcome. He mentioned feeling the warmth of the people in Batang, as well as in West Java, East Java, and Gorontalo. However, he reiterated his concern for the public being mobilized to welcome his presence along the roads in the heat. He emphasized that the most important thing is for the government to continue working for the welfare of the people. "Just relax. The important thing is that we work for the people," he explained.
