Poverty Rate in Philippines Hits Record Low, DSWD Attributes Success to Admin Programs

Poverty incidence in the Philippines has dropped to a record low of 9.7% in 2023, from 15.5%, according to Philippine Statistics Authority data. The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) attributes this success to President Marcos' administration's poverty alleviation programs.
