Cambodia: Ministry of Education and Scholarship Association Sign MoU for Youth Development

The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport of Cambodia and the Samdech Techo Hun Sen Scholarship Association (AMT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation aimed at enhancing youth capabilities on August 2, 2026. Presiding over the ceremony was Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manyet, wife of Prime Minister Hun Manet, who conveyed greetings from former Prime Minister Hun Sen, Madam Bun Rany Hun Sen, and Prime Minister Hun Manet. Dr. Pich Chanmony praised Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sport Hang Chuon Naron, and the ministry's leadership for their efforts in promoting this collaboration between the association and the ministry. Dr. Pich Chanmony expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport for providing numerous scholarships to students since 2008, aligning with the first key priority of the 'Pentagon Strategy - Phase I' to develop human capital in Cambodia, under the far-sighted leadership of Prime Minister Hun Manet. She also noted the ministry's support and scholarships for the children of frontline heroes and students returning to the country, demonstrating the government's commitment to not leaving anyone behind. Dr. Pich Chanmony articulated the association's core belief: "Poverty and financial hardship should not be the determining factor in any youth's destiny." She asserted that all young people have an equal right to education and training to become excellent human resources for the nation's future. This MoU signifies the strengthening of cooperation between the government and related organizations in Cambodia to foster the development of its youth and cultivate future national leaders.
