Cambodia: Ministry of Education and Scholarship Association Sign MoU for Human Resource Development

Phnom Penh – On the morning of August 2, 2026, Dr. Pich Chanmony, wife of Prime Minister Hun Manet, presided over the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the "Samdech Techo Hun Sen Prime Minister & Samdech Kittiprittbandit Bun Rany Hun Sen Scholarship Association" and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport. To begin the ceremony, Dr. Pich Chanmony conveyed heartfelt greetings from Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Samdech Kittiprittbandit Bun Rany Hun Sen, and Prime Minister Samdech Mahabovoreathipati Hun Manet to all attendees. Dr. Chanmony highly commended Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sport, along with the ministry's leadership, for their efforts in promoting cooperation between the association and the ministry, aimed at enhancing the capabilities of the younger generation. She also expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport for establishing this collaborative framework. This MoU is intended to foster the development of young human resources who will lead Cambodia's future and improve their skills. Specific initiatives are expected to include joint development of educational programs, expansion of scholarship schemes, and provision of career guidance. The Cambodian government prioritizes strengthening human capital as a key driver for economic development. The enhanced public-private partnership in the education sector is seen as part of this strategy. Particularly with rising expectations for educational reform under the Hun Manet administration, this MoU represents a significant step towards promoting equal opportunities and capacity building for Cambodian youth.
