Former Phu Quoc City Police Chief Sentenced to 18 Years for Fraud
An Giang Provincial People's Court has sentenced former Phu Quoc City Police Chief Le Van Mot to 18 years in prison for fraud. His alleged accomplice, Nguyen Thi Hang, received a combined sentence of 30 years for fraud and money laundering. The two defrauded victims of approximately VND 67 billion (around $2.8 million) by promising to facilitate land transactions with fabricated documents.
