Three individuals arrested for drinking alcohol on Yangon-Mandalay DEMU train

It has been reported that three men who were drinking alcohol and became intoxicated, causing disturbance to other passengers, have been arrested and detained on the Yangon-Mandalay DEMU train. The incident occurred on the morning of July 20, when three men traveling in first-class carriage 1, seats 1D, 3C, and 4D of the No. 3 up-line Yangon-Mandalay DEMU train were found to be drinking alcohol and causing disturbance to other passengers. They were subsequently arrested and detained. A case has been opened against them at the Ramathine City Police Station under Section 88(a) of the Railway Transportation Business Law, and legal action is being taken. It was also reported that a few days prior, four women who were speaking loudly to disturb others, staining seats and seat covers with betel nut, lime, and saliva, and carelessly leaving containers of betel nut spit on the No. 3 up-line Yangon-Mandalay DEMU train, were arrested and prosecuted at the Pinmana City Police Station under Section 88(a) of the Railway Transportation Business Law.
