In Pailin Province, western Cambodia, on July 5, 2026, Governor Ban Sreymom met with commune/sangkat councilors, village chiefs, deputy village chiefs, village members, and village security forces from seven communes/sangkats across the province. The meeting aimed to understand the challenges in providing various services to local residents and to assess their living conditions. Donations of cash, materials, and uniforms were also provided to the village security forces. Governor Ban Sreymom emphasized the role of village security forces, stating, "Their duty is to protect the security of their local areas, ensuring residents live peacefully and happily. It is crucial to prevent various illegal acts such as juvenile delinquency, noise disturbances, and drug offenses. Village security forces can contribute to maintaining the safety and order of the community, much like police officers. They can cooperate with administrative police to ensure good security and order in their localities." The governor highlighted that under the wise leadership of former Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen and the current Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Cambodia enjoys complete peace and strong stability. She added that the well-being of the people and the provision of essential public services remain top priorities for authorities and relevant departments, requiring constant attention to ensure the safety, prosperity, and harmony of every citizen and society as a whole. Governor Ban Sreymom expressed her sincere appreciation and high regard for the village chiefs, deputy chiefs, members, and security forces who have dedicated their time, effort, and spirit to cooperate with local authorities, resulting in secure and orderly villages and communes.
