Myanmar democracy activists protest at Thai embassy in London against invitation to Min Aung Hlaing, submit open letter

In a move to demonstrate their rejection of official engagement and invitations to the military junta leader Min Aung Hlaing, a protest was held on July 28 in front of the Royal Thai Embassy in London, led by the Myanmar Unity Movement. "We are deeply concerned about the stance and actions of some ASEAN countries regarding the extremely severe humanitarian crisis currently faced by the people of Myanmar," the protesters stated. Furthermore, they collaborated in support of the "Proof of Life Campaign," which demands proof of life and survival for political prisoners, including the nation's leader Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, who is being unjustly detained by the military junta. Following the protest, representatives of the demonstration handed over an open letter to officials at the Royal Thai Embassy in London, urging them to hear the voices of the Myanmar people and to stand on the side of humanity and justice. Protests were held in front of the Thai Embassy in London, the Malaysian Embassy, and the junta's embassy, reportedly as a demonstration of their refusal to accommodate the military junta leader who tortures and kills the people.
