Massive Search in Chonburi After Russian Siblings Vanish, Motorcycle Found Buried

CHONBURI — More than 200 police officers, local officials and rescue workers scoured a forest in Chonburi on Wednesday in a desperate search for two Russian siblings who have been missing since July 26. The siblings, Diana Nazimova, 22, and her 17-year-old brother Roman Nazimova, vanished after leaving their home to visit a convenience store. Their mother reported them missing, expressing fears for their safety. CCTV footage reportedly showed another motorcycle following the siblings, and Diana had allegedly sent a message stating she believed they were being followed. Her phone also issued an alert for a nearby unidentified Bluetooth tracking device before both phones were switched off. The search took a grim turn on Wednesday when the siblings' black-and-grey Honda ADV 150 motorcycle was discovered dismantled and buried in a forested area of Moo 9 in Huai Yai subdistrict, Bang Lamung district. Local officials reported encountering four men with digging equipment at the site the previous night, who fled before police arrived. Authorities initially feared a body might be buried there, but the discovery of the dismantled motorcycle has deepened the mystery surrounding the siblings' disappearance. Police are now working to identify the four men and establish their connection to the case. Rescuers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation, along with police and district officials, have divided the search area into zones and are continuing their efforts. As of Wednesday afternoon, no further trace of the siblings or additional evidence had been found. A local resident living near the discovery site has also been brought in for questioning, though details were not released.
