Trees fall on vehicles due to strong winds and rain in Yangon

In some townships in Yangon Region, fallen trees have caused damage to vehicles due to heavy rain and strong winds on the afternoon of September 14, according to a release from the Myanmar Fire Brigade. In Kamayut Township, Ward 9, University Garden Road, a tree fell due to strong winds shortly after 2 PM on September 14, crushing a vehicle and blocking the road. Firefighters carried out removal and clearing operations, it is reported. Similarly, in Thingangyun Township, Market West Ward, Market Road, a tree fell and blocked the road, prompting firefighters to go and carry out clearing operations. In Yankin Township, Ward 16, North Racecourse Road, a tree also fell, crushing a vehicle and blocking the road, necessitating removal and clearing operations, it is said. Furthermore, in Mayangon Township, Ward 5, Pyitawshwe War Road, a tree fell, and removal and clearing operations were carried out to prevent road blockages, the Myanmar Fire Brigade also announced.
