AYEYARWADDY TIMES September 14 In Yangon, heavy rains and strong winds today caused trees to fall, and rainfall is expected to increase in the next two days, according to a release from the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology. On September 14, trees fell in Mayangone, Yangon, Yakin, Mingaladon, and Kamaryut townships in Yangon Region, causing damage to homes and motor vehicles, according to the Fire Services Department of Myanmar. It was also stated that rainfall will increase in Yangon Region, Bago Region, Ayeyarwaddy Region, Tanintharyi Region, Kayin State, and Mon State in the coming two days. In Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon Region, Mandalay Region, Bago Region, Upper Sagaing Region, Ayeyarwaddy Region, Tanintharyi Region, Kachin State, Kayin State, Mon State, and Shan State (South), where cumulonimbus clouds are developing strongly, strong winds are likely to occur along with rainfall, according to the release. It was also stated that thunderstorms, lightning, and hail may occur in these regions. The waves in the Myanmar territorial waters will be moderate, and the wave height in the coastal and offshore areas along the Myanmar coast may be around five to seven feet, according to the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology.
